X-ray Services

Diagnostic imaging techniques help narrow the causes of an injury or illness and ensure that the diagnosis is accurate. X-rays (radiographs) are the most common and widely available diagnostic imaging technique.

At Sports Medicine North, we utilize a C-Arm machine in addition to standard digital X-ray imaging. Our standard digital X-ray is available at our Peabody, Beverly, and Newburyport locations and C-Arm machine is available at our Peabody and Newburyport locations. A C-Arm machine is a fluoroscopy system that rotates around your body to look at different angles. While a standard X-ray provides a still picture, a C-Arm can provide a continuous X-ray which allows our providers to have real-time imaging. Using a C-arm machine we are able to offer our patients a range of procedures in office, including spinal epidurals, as well as injections targeting the shoulder and hip areas.

Our onsite X-ray machines and dedicated team of X-ray technologists and orthopedic specialists provide immediate results to determine the best path of care.

What Should I Know About X-ray Services?

Pregnant women, if possible, should not have an X-ray test as there is a small risk that X-rays may cause an abnormality to the unborn child. This is why women are asked before having an X-ray if they are, or might be, pregnant.
